On April 3, 2023, Least Authority performed a security audit of the Ava Labs Subnet Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). We are pleased to announce that upon completion of the audit, Ava Labs has elected to make the findings of that report available to the public.
Ava Labs maintains AvalancheGo, the network client for running Avalanche, a blockchain platform for launching decentralized applications and enterprise blockchain deployments. It is designed to allow developers to create powerful, reliable, and autonomous custom blockchain networks.
From design to production, we work closely with teams through the complete development cycle to identify security issues and promote best practices. Security audits are a key component of Least Authority’s security consulting services and represent a significant part of our overarching efforts to advance digital security and preserve privacy as a fundamental human right.
The impact of our security audit work is amplified when a report is published, as it allows the sharing of lessons learned among the community, contributes to more robust security systems, and reinforces security best practices. While we do not require that our clients publish audit reports (the teams we work with publish reports at their discretion, and we do not publish reports on our own unless they do so or grant us permission), we are strong proponents of transparency and encourage them to do so. Of the more than 200 audits we have completed, over 100 have been published and are available to review on our website.
Least Authority was formed in the U.S. in 2011 to create freedom-compatible technologies. We began our security auditing work in 2014. Our consulting services additionally include design reviews and multi-phase engagements for a broad range of ecosystems and communities.
